Day 3, Werchter 2008, Radiohead. But most off all: Sigur Ròs!
Not the best setting for a Sigur concert but with a big crowd, a sun that was setting and a few trompets they had brought with them, it became a masterpiece. I think I must warn you now that this review will not be the most objective one.
The lead singer, Jonsi Birgisso, who is a bitt cross-eyed, began the concert with Svefn-g-englar, a song from the movie Vanilla Sky. The band played songs from different albums, mostly from takk… and their last Með Suð í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust. Their last single Gobbledigook, recieved an extra moment where when the song bursted the band ignited a confetticanon. A surrealistic view!
The only downside on the concert was perhaps the last song, Popplagið. After Gobbledigook, where the band had constructed some kind of vibe, Popplagið was to much of a difference of pace for most of the crowd.
setlist:
Svefn-g-englar
Ný Batterí
Glósóli
Sæglópur
Við spilum endalaust
Hoppipolla/Með blóðnasir
Inní mér syngur vitleysingur
Hafssól
Gobbledigook
Popplagið

Jon is NOT cross-eyed! He has a perky eye. It looks off to the right not at the other eye. Anyway. You’re soooooooooooo lucky to have seen them live.
